The bolo app, as Google pointed out in its blog post, comes with a host of interesting features that make it easy for parents and their children to read and learn new words. For starters, the app comes with Google's speech recognition and text-to-speech technology or reading buddy called Diya that not only explains the words and their meanings to the kids as they read the text out loud but it also corrects them as they do so. "Diya can not only read out the text to your child, but also explain the meaning of English text in Hindi," Google wrote in a blog post.

It features a large variety of engaging stories which are completely free and the initial catalog from Storyweaver.org.in includes 50 stories in Hindi & 40 in English.
